Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What
is the process to Re-coat my wood floors?
A: Recoating will add shine and durability to your existing wood
floor. The process includes stripping away build up,
buffing and re-applying the finish.
Q: What is the process to Re-finish my wood floors?
A: Refinishing requires the floor to be sanded down to
bare wood, with stain and finish re-applied. This is a much
more intensive process.
Q: How long does this take?
A: Of course the answer to this question depends on the area to be
processed. Most jobs take 2-4 days from start to finish.
Staining can add 1-2 days. It is always recommended that
you wait a couple of days before resuming heavy traffic and
replacing furniture.
Q: Is it very dusty?
A: Bill's of West Hartford uses the very
latest in dustless technology - the newest machinery which
filters very differently from traditional sanding
equipment. (Please see details on web site) Although it is
difficult to eliminate 100% of the dust produced, the
equipment and our technicians do an incredible job of
minimizing dust and maximizing the cleanliness of the
process.
Q: Will I need to move out during the sanding and
refinishing process?
A:
Access is allowed anytime the floors are not
wet. Great care needs to be taken to keep the areas clean
and dry. The customer will generally have access from 8pm -
8am. Bill's Floor Sanding will work with the customer to
accommodate any special needs.
Q: Will you move my furniture?
A: Furniture and Carpet removal are available.
Q: How much will it cost?

surface. We are competitive in our pricing with the best
